Overall of The Pearl

I think this story was better than it looked. Like they always say, don't judge a book by it's cover! I guess I did, because i really thought this book would be really boring. The begging, I have to admit, was pretty boring, but the story got better as it went on. The ending was surprising beyond belief, and i was amazed by what happened to Coyotito. He was my favorite character! He was only the connection I really made, gurgling, laughing, getting bit/stung by bugs(stung by bees, bit by ladybugs). I liked how Kino and Juana were able to defend themselves, and they outsmarted the smartest people native to their area. I thought that was pretty cool. But I'm mad at them, because they killed Coyotito! *Sad Face* Overall, I liked this book more than I thought I would, and it turned out to be pretty good. I hope the next story we read is a mystery; so it won't be very predictable. Much thanks to Mrs. Mundt for having awesome taste in books! *Happy Face*
